Mission | Our Approach | The Nature of Conflict
To reduce the negative expression of conflict by mobilizing and deploying resources for conflict resolution training and interventions.
What we do
We provide peace education and conflict resolution intervention programs to K-12 schools around the globe.
Why we do it
Because conflict exists, we believe people ought to possess the knowledge and skills to peacefully resolve it.
Why we are successful
It’s our customers, individual donors, corporate sponsors, members and employees who makes Peace Peddlers® so successful — and makes us optimistic that we can expand our peace work to meet the challenges ahead.
We believe peace is a process, an outcome, a state of mind, a state of being, a lifestyle and a choice. We believe peace can be achieved by empowering people with the knowledge and skills to peacefully resolve conflict.
Making Peace Together
We take a partnership approach to increase peace in the world, recognizing the greatest impact is achieved through collective effort. As a peace building organization, we view our individual donors, corporate sponsors, customers and members as partners in the effort to increase peace in classrooms, schools and communities. We pride ourselves in working with our partners to provide peace education and conflict intervention programs to schools around the globe. Simply put, proceeds from our Peace Academy, Peace Forum and Peace Shop help support our Project: Peace Peddlers™ and Project: Peace Now™ programs.
THE NATURE OF CONFLICT
“Peace is not absence of conflict, it is the ability to handle conflict by peaceful means”
Conflict is everywhere and impossible to avoid. While it is not inherently bad or negative, conflict can be expressed negatively and produce negative outcomes if not managed properly. When peacefully and effectively managed, conflict can be a force for producing positive change. This is the purpose of Project: Peace Peddlers™ and Project: Peace Now™. Our programs empower teachers and students with the knowledge and skills to peacefully and effectively manage conflict and provide the space and expertise for peacefully resolving acute instances of conflict.
